Television: My Film School
This is going to be one of the most fun sections of this site. It will certainly be the most personal. With all due respect to my post-secondary professors, most of my education in film history has been self-taught. And most of that education came from television. Television: My Film School pays tribute to all of the programming I had viewed over three decades. In the links below, you will find reminisces of the late-night movie, weekly hosted programs, and many others. Each in some way represented one aspect of film history, based on the packages of movies that they had. Upon reflection, every TV station in those days had its own specialty and identity. This notion is unthinkable in today's climate of 500 so-called “specialty” channels that all play the same things. This section is near and dear to my heart, and it's also a piece of cultural history that I don't want to see disappearing into the ether. I wish to preserve it for generations to come. From the bottom of my heart, I truly hope you enjoy the links below, and do check back often for updates!
