Song of the Firefly (Canada, 2002) Izabella Pruska-Oldenhof. 5 min color
This is a remarkable short which transcends the photogram films of yore which dispense of the camera, and where the creator works directly onto the emulsion. The frame-by-frame patterns of course, are evocative of fireflies in a sea of night, but this film is commendable for its technical finesse. The visuals are captivating and the soundtrack is superb. Pure cinema for the imagination.
